EASTER AND MOTHER'S DAY

Easter was a little different for our family this year. Than and Erica flew to Atlanta for her step father's wedding and we went to Walnut Creek and watched the kids for them. We went down early Friday afternoon and came home Sunday night so Walt and I could go back to work the next day. The kids (and Walt) wanted pizza that night so we got some Papa Murphy's and soda. Pacen was acting a little quiet but not too bad. None of the kids seemed motivated to do much so this was a typical scene. Than and Erica really do have more seating than this....it just seemed like they all wanted to be piled up on each other at all times.

On Saturday morning we went yard selling because that is what Walt does on Saturday mornings. Then we took the kids to the movies and saw that bird movie....I think it was called Rio. It was fun and actually rather entertaining. Pacen was getting more and more quiet though. We bought the kids some suckers to eat there. Claira was pounding them. I think she ate at least five or six of them. Pacen didn't even finish his first.

And then when we got home, he looked like this for the rest of the time we were there. He started throwing up and had a fever and it was just sad. I felt so badly for him too because there is nothing worse than feeling this badly and not having your mom around. But Pacen was typical Pacen. He didn't complain or whine or anything. He just looked sad and rather pathetic. So I spent the rest of the time cleaning up throw up and taking his temperature and giving him medicine. Thank goodness none of the others got it. It really was just sad though.

And while Pacen looked like that, Papa looked like this. I love that Penny likes him so much.

So even though Easter passed rather uneventfully for us, Mother's day was a huge event, thanks to Than. He surprised me and they drove up after a ward activity on Saturday night. They got here around one o'clock in the morning. Everyone crashed out and then in the morning, Than began cooking and he literally cooked all day, except for the time he was in church. For breakfast he fixed sausage and hash browns and this really good peach breakfast thing. It was delicious.

Here is the most beautiful mother of the day. Than spoiled me and he spoiled her.

Here he is slaving away in the kitchen. Seriously after such a great breakfast, the spoiling continued. He made homemade chinese chicken salad (my favorite), and this really good marinated steak that was so incredibly tender and delicious, sauteed mushrooms, corn on the cob and pink lemonade pie for dessert. How awesome was that menu? It was a ton of work, but he didn't complain even once and he even did all of the cleanup.

So thank you Than for all of the hard work. I don't know why he acts so moronic when it is picture time. Than and Erica also gave us tickets to see Tim Mcgraw, Toby Keith, and Rascal Flatts. The cool part is that we get to go with them to all of them. Thanks Than and Erica. That was the best mother's day ever. I got to hear from all of my kids, I didn't have to clean up anything, and I got to eat all of my favorite foods. It doesn't get any better than that.
